Welcome to August and the Writing Life Challenge! This challenge is designed to be a community of people dedicated to encouraging each other daily and challenging each other to grow in our faith in Jesus. Are you ready to jump in?
Community does not exist without communication, and as Christians one of the things God asks of us is to communicate with him through prayer. So while we spend a few days building a community within the challenge, we’ll also focus on communicating with the Lord using Colossians 4:2 as our guide:
Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful. (NIV)
Today’s challenge focuses on that little word thankful.
Read one of the Psalms of personal thanks: 21, 30, 34, 40, 66, 92, 108, 116, 138. Use it as inspiration to take a few minutes to thank God for something he has done recently in your own life.
Post what you read in the comments below, and then either tell us what part of the Psalm spoke to you or tell us one thing you’re thankful for. Or if you’d like, head on over to Instagram and post a photo of something you’re thankful for and give us the info in your caption. Be sure to use the #writinglifeaugustchallenge hashtag!
